PRAXIS INTERNACIONAL Spanish Immigration Law

Services

Appeals and refusals

Administrative and judicial appeals against refusals, file closures and unfavorable decisions on Spanish immigration and citizenship.

Defense

A refusal is not the end

Receiving an unfavorable decision is frustrating, but it can often be reversed. We analyze the grounds for the refusal and assess whether to appeal or file a new, better-supported application.

Appeal deadlines are short, so it is important to act quickly from the moment you are notified.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

How long do I have to appeal?

As a rule, one month for a reconsideration appeal and two months for judicial review, counted from the day after notification. Each case may have particularities, so it is important to consult as soon as possible.

Should I appeal or reapply?

It depends on the grounds for the refusal. If the authorities made a mistake, appealing is usually the right choice; if a requirement was missing that you now meet, reapplying may be faster. We assess it with you.

What if the authorities do not respond?

If the maximum time to decide passes without a response, administrative silence applies, which in most Spanish immigration procedures counts as a refusal. That opens the door to an appeal, and we advise you on the best way forward.
